Hey church family! Here’s what you need to know for this week Sound City.
CELEBRATING | COMMUNITY GROUPS & LOCAL MISSION
Our Community Groups Ministry sets aside financial resources each year to assist and come alongside groups who identity local missions initiative opportunities within their communities where they can serve others in the name of Christ. This week we're celebrating one group's initiative in doing that very thing. Over the past year, they have loved and served the host family’s next-door neighbor in various ways. This neighbor had recently experienced a major health issue and was, therefore, unable to care for the structure of his home. The community group rallied their time, talents, and treasure over the last year to help repair and rebuild the unsafe structures. This week we're celebrating how this group was able to show their neighbors the love of Christ through this missional expression of biblical community. Join us this week in prayer and thanksgiving for this evidence of God's grace to us that he would use Sound City to model Christ's love to others... even those living right next door!
THIS WEEK AT SOUND CITY BIBLE CHURCH
THIS SUNDAY’S SERMON | JOHN 5:30–47
When Jesus healed the invalid at the Pool of Bethesda, he was accused of two crimes: violating the Sabbath, and committing blasphemy by claiming to be equal to God. Jesus answered these charges—potential capital offenses!—by doubling down on his claims to be the one true Son of God. In the passage we will look at on Sunday, John 5:30–47, Jesus continues to press his point by calling on witnesses to his divinity: John the Baptizer, his miracles, God the Father, and the Scriptures. Join us on Sunday as we dive into what it means to defend our faith in Jesus.

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 4 | SUPER BOWL MISSIONAL OPPORTUNITY
As Christians who desire to build gospel-centered friendships with our non-Christian friends and neighbors, the Super Bowl marks one of the great invitational opportunities we have each year. Whether it's with your Community Group or just with your next-door neighbors, we'd invite you to consider who you might prayerfully invite to spend Super Bowl Sunday with you. You might even invite them to church with you that morning too.
