Hey church family! Here’s what you need to know for this week at Sound City.

CELEBRATING | MOMENTS ON MISSION

The Mexico mission team arrived home safely last Saturday after spending the prior week ministering and serving in the city of Vicente Guerrero in Jesus' name. This week we're celebrating one of the many special ministry moments the team experienced together while in Mexico.

Foundation For His Ministry is our ministry partner in Mexico where the team goes to serve and minister in Jesus' name. The ministry opportunities there are diverse and numerous, including a regional drug rehabilitation center called, Rancho De Cristo. One of the ways the ministry helps it's participants get their lives back on track is by teaching them different skills; from carpentry to welding, they are taught how to get a job and work a trade that is honoring to the Lord, instead of using and selling drugs. While the team was getting a tour of the ranch on Friday afternoon, they told us and showed us a special commercial sewing machine that had been heavily relied upon by the ministry that had been broken down for many months. As they were telling us how they'd been praying for God for months for the provision of a replacement machine or someone who could fix the broken one, a member of our team—Nathan Campbell—mentioned he'd had past experience fixing these very machines! And with a little bit of work, he was able to fix it and get them back up and running! What a "coincidence" right? This is one of the many stories the team brought home from their trip, and one of the many evidences of God's grace enjoyed by the team while in Mexico.

Please join us this week in prayer and thanksgiving for the opportunities God has given us to be his hands and feet, not just in the Seattle area but around the world as well! Additionally, please join us in praying that all who call Sound City Bible Church home would increasingly live as missionaries in our homes, workplaces, neighborhoods, schools, and communities.

THIS WEEK AT SOUND CITY BIBLE CHURCH

THIS SUNDAY’S SERMON |  JOHN 6:26–40 | JESUS, THE BREAD OF LIFE

So far in John 6, we have seen Jesus feed five thousand (his fourth sign) and walk on the water (his fifth sign). Now, in John 6:26-40, he begins to explain the meaning behind these important signs. Jesus is the bread of life, the one who feed and sustains us at the deepest possible level. Read ahead, pray, and come prepared this Sunday to have God help us see how he is our ultimate provider.

THIS SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 25 | BAPTISM EVENT

If you're a Christian and never been baptized in order to declare yourself part of Christ's family and to joyfully declare/demonstrate your faith as the Bible instructs us to, then this Sunday might be your day! To find out more, and/or get registered to be part of this baptism event use one of the appropriate button below. The event will be at the home of one of our Covenant Members, starting at 2pm this Sunday, February 25.

FEBRUARY 25—MARCH 11 | COVENANT MEMBER RE-COMMITMENT

From the beginning, we've always highly valued the intentional commitment of each Christian to a local church (Sound City Bible Church, in our case). Looking to the Scriptures, we find all sorts of admonitions from the Apostles, and from Jesus himself, about the life we're each called to live—for God's glory and our joy. Because the Bible takes these commitments seriously, we do too. Therefore, we see Covenant Membership at Sound City to be more than just a 'one and done' kind of thing. Rather, we see local church membership as a living and breathing commitment to growing as disciples, and seeking to live the lives we're called to in Christ. It's with this in mind  that we ask every Covenant Member of Sound City—staff and elders included—to pause once each year, to prayerfully review and then recommit to the faith and discipleship commitments we each made when we first became Covenant Members of Sound City Bible Church.

If you're a Covenant Member, watch your email inbox this Sunday, February 25, for an email containing the link for completing your annual Covenant Member Re-Commitment. You'll have two weeks to complete it, but please take a few minutes at your earliest possible convenience to complete your re-commitment form. Thank you in advance for your intentionality and commitment to living as Christ's disciples as part of the Sound City Bible Church family. And if you're not yet a Covenant Member, consider attending the Covenant Membership Interest Meeting on March 11 (more information below).

FEATURED REMINDER

KIDS MINISTRY | SERVING OPPORTUNITIES

Our Kids Ministry has a really good problem—there’s tons of kids that show up every single week to learn about Jesus! But the problem we’re facing as we grow, is not always having enough Kids Ministry Team members to serve all the kids showing up each week. That means we could really use your help. We’d invite you to prayerfully consider if God might be asking you to join this awesome team of volunteers committed to helping all the kids of Sound City to increasingly know, love, and live for Jesus. Please prayerfully consider serving in this important ministry, then when you’re ready, fill out the Kids Ministry application.
