This past weekend, the Sound City Students headed to the Cascades to enjoy their first-ever Winter Retreat. We are grateful that so many students were able to participate – 24 in all! The students and leaders alike were able to enjoy time outdoors, celebrating God's beautiful creation together. With answered prayers for lots of snow, the group was able to fellowship and enjoy activities in nature like snowshoeing, roasting hot dogs over a fire pit, and even snowmobiling. There were also teaching times which helped to further equip the students in studying their Bibles and deepening their relationship with—and understanding of— Jesus. Please join us in prayer and thanksgiving for the group's safe travels, as well as for God's continued provision for the growth and equipping of the students of Sound City Bible Church. We're so thankful for opportunities like this for the students to enjoy Christ-centered community with one another, for his glory and their good.

THIS WEEK AT SOUND CITY BIBLE CHURCH

THIS SUNDAY’S SERMON |  JOHN 6:60–71 | TWO RESPONSES TO JESUS

This Sunday, we will be looking at the end of John, chapter 6—verses 60–71. Even though it has taken us five weeks to work through this chapter, it’s important to remember that this chapter is a single unified narrative that begins with Jesus feeding the 5,000 and ends with this call to whole-hearted devotion. In this Sunday’s passage, we see that many people decide that it is simply too hard to follow Jesus. But we also hear the incredible words of Peter as he says, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” This week would be a good time to re-read all of John 6, and possibly even review the sermons prior to joining us this Sunday.

NOW—MARCH 11 | COVENANT MEMBER RE-COMMITMENT

We're in the final days of the 2018 Covenant Member Re-Commitment Period—the time each year we all pause to consider again and then recommit to the discipleship commitments we each made when we first became Covenant Members of Sound City Bible Church.

If you're a Covenant Member, please complete your re-commitment forms ASAP, but no later then this Sunday, March 11. You can complete your form online right now at: scbc.do/recommit. Thank you again for your intentionality and commitment to living as Christ's disciples as part of the Sound City Bible Church family.

God calls his people to be intentionally committed to a local body of fellow Christ followers, for God's glory and their good. If you call Sound City Bible Church home, and you’ve not yet joined us as a Covenant Member, then we’d like to invite you to join us to learn more about membership at Sound City. Mark your calendars now for Sunday, March 11, during the 11am service, when we’ll be hosting our next information meeting for those interested in Covenant Membership at Sound City Bible Church. Pastor Shane will gather with those participating at 11am at the tables just up from the coffee area in the foyer. In the mean time, you can review the step-by-step, self-paced, Covenant Membership process by following the link below.

MARCH 30 & APRIL 1 | GOOD FRIDAY & EASTER SUNDAY

This year for Good Friday we're doing something a little different. Sound City will be celebrating Good Friday with a couple local church partners that we're honored to call our friends. For those on the north end, join us Good Friday at Foundation Church in Everett, for a 6:30pm service. Kids Ministry will be available during the service, and Pastor Aaron will be leading worship. Directions to Foundation Church can be found here.

For those on the south end, join us for Good Friday at Cross and Crown Church in the U-District for the 6:00pm or 7:30pm service. Both services will have Kids Ministry for the little ones (Nursery–4 years). Our very own Pete Wilson will be leading worship at both services, and directions to Cross and Crown can be found here.

For Easter Sunday, we will gather together as a church family back at Lynnwood High School at our regular service times, 9am and 11am. Join us for worship, prayer, and jubilation as we celebrate the empty tomb and the resurrection of Jesus.

FEATURED RESOURCE

This past Sunday, we had the pleasure of hearing from guest preacher, Steve Patton. Steve is the preaching and discipleship pastor for a new church plant in Seattle's south end, called Reunion Seattle.
