Hey church family! Here’s what you need to know for this week at Sound City.

CELEBRATING | LAUNCHING FROM CONNECT GROUP

This week, we are excited to celebrate the launching out of two co-leaders from our current Connect Group. Bryce Ferguson and Alex Wingert have been co-leading their Community Group and decided to join the Connect Group this past January. It has been a fruitful season of learning, growing, and sharpening their skills in preparation to return to their existing group as healthier and better-equipped leaders. "For me, it was a good opportunity to sit under different leadership, participate, and get to know other people in the group," said Bryce. "Connect is a great opportunity to meet more people in the church... focus on God, and the importance of loving each other well, unto Christ."

Please join us as we celebrate God for these leaders and the opportunity to learn about biblical community through experiences like Connect Group. We pray that their Community Group would be enriched and bear much fruit, to the glory of God, as they seek to love one another well through Christ-centered community.

THIS WEEK AT SOUND CITY BIBLE CHURCH

THIS SUNDAY’S SERMON |  JOHN 7:1–24 | JESUS AND THE LAW

Last Sunday's sermon finished in John chapter 6, which takes place in the springtime, during Passover season. Now, in John chapter 7, the season shifts to fall and the Feast of Booths, also known by its Hebrew name of Sukkot. This important festival was a time for the Jewish people to thank God for the harvest while remembering how God provided for their ancestors when they lived in tents for forty years. This Sunday, we will look at John 7:1–24 and a whole host of misunderstandings that the people have with Jesus, with each other, and with the Scripture.

COMING SOON | MARK YOUR CALENDARS

NOW–MARCH 25 | MARKER DRIVE FOR HEED UGANDA

You're invited to join Sound City Kids Ministry in partnering with HEED Uganda. We will be collecting markers (Crayola washable markers preferred) to send over to the children in Uganda. For many of these children, this will be the first time ever using markers. If you would like to partner with us and donate markers to the children served by the HEED Uganda organization, please bring your donations to Kids Ministry over the next two Sundays. The last day to donate will be Sunday, March 25th.

MARCH 30 & APRIL 1 | GOOD FRIDAY & EASTER SUNDAY

This year for Good Friday we're doing something a little different. Sound City will be celebrating Good Friday with a couple local church partners that we're honored to call our friends. For those on the north end, join us for Good Friday at Foundation Church in Everett, for a 6:30pm service. Kids Ministry will be available during the service, and Pastor Aaron will be leading worship. Directions to Foundation Church can be found here.

For those on the south end, join us for Good Friday at Cross and Crown Church in the U-District for the 6:00pm or 7:30pm service. Both services will have Kids Ministry for the little ones (Nursery–4 years). Our very own Pete Wilson will be leading worship at both services, and directions to Cross and Crown can be found here.

For Easter Sunday, we will gather together as a church family back at Lynnwood High School at our regular service times, 9am and 11am. Join us for worship, prayer, and jubilation as we celebrate the empty tomb and the resurrection of Jesus.

APRIL 7 | STEADFAST CONFERENCE AT FOUNDATION CHURCH

We live in a transitional culture. Changes to jobs, schools, and houses are regular events affecting our relationships, communities, and churches. Many people move for work or other opportunities, and in our churches, change is a constant. As Christians, how do we find what it takes to serve faithfully in our ever-changing church community? Where do we go to be encouraged and equipped to thrive for the long-term as active members of local churches?

Join us at Foundation Church in Everett for a half-day conference, called Steadfast, to be encouraged and equipped for healthy, joyful service in your local church. Dave Harvey, Executive Director of Sojourn Network, will be the main session speaker. There is a $10 fee for the conference, which will include light refreshments and a copy of Dave Harvey's book, Rescuing Ambition. For more information on the conference, or to register for the event, click here.

FEATURED RESOURCE

This Sunday's sermon will start in chapter 7 of the Book of John. In the passage, Jesus will be continuing his ministry during the Feast of Booths, which was an important time of thanksgiving to God for his provision in the preceding year's harvest, as well as prayer for a hearty upcoming rainy season.
