Celebrating | Mission Team is in Uganda

As we gathered together this past Sunday, you may notice there were a number of familiar faces missing, and we are excited to celebrate that! The reason why is that a group of Pastors and Covenant Members from Sound City are currently on the other side of the globe, in a remote village in the Mubende District of Uganda for a short-term medical outreach mission trip.

Serving alongside HEED Uganda, a mission organization that was started by one of Sound City’s Covenant Members, the team has been primarily focusing on medical outreach in the ongoing fight against Malaria. It is one of the highest causes of death in the region they are in, so the ability to test and treat those in the surrounding villages and communities is a meaningful and practical way of serving the needs of the people there.

We asked the people of Sound City to help us raise $5,000 for the medical mission, which would enable the team to provide basic medical check-ups, treatment for other illnesses, and provide education on Malaria prevention. You all went above and beyond and raised $10,000! Because of this, the team has also been able to provide care for pregnancy, dental needs, UTIs, and Hepatitis. Their hope is to reach around 1,000 people, including school children and their families.

We invite you to join us in prayer for the team, the lives they will be impacting for Christ, the relationships that will be built, and for God to be glorified in all of their efforts.
