Hey Student Ministry Parents!
Welcome to this month’s Student Ministry Newsletter. It’s our goal to keep you informed and give you all the info you’d need as parents to support and encourage the work the Student Ministry aims to do in helping every student to know, love, and live for Jesus.
Summer is here! We hope you are enjoying this beautiful PNW weather. With school out and families taking their summer vacations, we are taking a break from our normal rhythms. The Student Ministry meets weekly throughout the school year (September–June) and takes a break from the normal, weekly gatherings for the summer. We desire to continue building on the relationships formed throughout the year by doing some unique and fun events over the summer. See below for more details on what's happening this summer.
This month we’re celebrating our 3rd annual Summer Kick-Off Pool Party. Thanks to one gracious SCBC family, we were able to gather at their home to enjoy a ton of fun. We enjoyed good food, great friends, and amazing fun as students played for hours in their pool. We want to thank Rick and Pam Crosby for opening their home and allowing the students to gather together for one of the best events of the year.
SAVE THE DATE
Our hope and desire is that all our students are able to participate in every opportunity to grow closer to each other and to Jesus as we serve, play, and worship together. Please make note of the following dates. Also, be sure to check back here as well as the Sound City Students FB page on occasion for event details and updates.
July 11-15 | Summer Camp: Go to scbc.do/studentcamp for more details, to include the downloadable camp guide, which has a packing list for your convenience. If your son/daughter is registered and joining us for camp, you should have received a separate email with all the important details you need to know for camp. If you missed this email click HERE to view a copy. It looks like it's going to be pretty warm at camp. Please make sure to send your student with a reusable water bottle, labeled with their name, and encourage them to stay hydrated while at camp.
July 21 | Summer Hike: Families are invited to come along for a family friendly hike at Franklin Falls. Head over to scbc.do/events for more details.
August 10 | Everett Aquasox Game: If you are interested in getting free tickets to join us for the August 10th Aquasox game, click HERE to learn more.
September 9 | Praying Over Students: Each year as students head back to school we invite them up on stage to pray over them for the upcoming school year.
September 19 | Fall Launch: First Wednesday night gathering of the school year. Students 6th–12th grades are invited to join us each Wednesday night as we gather together from 6:45p–8:30p at the church offices (Address: 4720 200th Street SW, Suite 200, Lynnwood, WA 98036).
- Pray for our upcoming summer camp, for the relationships between the students, our safety as we travel and play, and for open hearts, ready to respond to the gospel.
- Pray for our students to be saturated with the gospel and to have the courage to share their faith with the world around them.
- Please pray for the students, the leaders, their families, and the Student Ministry as a whole.
