If you're reading this, welcome to the newly redesigned website of Sound City Bible Church! Over the last few weeks and months, one of our Covenant Members has worked very hard to make the site that you're now enjoying. Thank you, Jesus, for generous and faithful volunteers who know how to make technology work! Let me highlight a few features that we're excited about.
1. Redesigned Sermon Space
One of the main things that we do as a church is gather together each Sunday for the preaching of God's word. But what happens if you miss a Sunday due to travel or sickness or something? Or what if you want to share a particular sermon with friends and family? We updated the sermon section so that you can access the sermons easily by series, find the sermon audio and notes, read the discussion questions, or find links to additional content for further study. If you prefer to listen to the sermons via iTunes podcast, there's a nice big button on all sermon pages that will take you right there.
2. Easy Access to CCB
Sound City Bible Church uses a tool called Church Community Builder (CCB) for our online community. Within our online community, you can join various groups (such as service teams or Community Groups), send messages to other members, see member-only communication, manage your giving and donation history, and keep your information updated so that church leaders can contact you if need be. We also use CCB for quick and easy children’s ministry check-in. If you look in the upper right-hand corner of any page, you'll see a "Login" button where you can easily access your account. Or, if you don't already have an account, scroll down to the bottom of any page to find the "Sign Up" button.
3. Redesigned Blog
The blog serves a couple of key purposes. First, we like to share helpful bible teaching on various subjects that we may not get to cover on a Sunday morning. For instance, Pastor Shane recently wrote a very helpful six-part series on the subject of fasting. My hope is that this year, we can provide a lot more helpful and rich content for you. The second main purpose of the blog is to help our church community know about events and announcements. Sometimes, a ten-second announcement at the end of service isn't enough to really give all the relevant information about an upcoming event. The blog gives us some more space to provide information, context, or a place to sign up for specific events.
One of the purposes that this mission statement serves is to help us evaluate what we do as a church and why we're doing it, even something like this new website. It is our sincere hope that this site serves to bring glory to God in all the ways our mission statement outlines, and helps us to grow as disciples of Jesus as we share content, connect new people, and provide helpful information with the wider community.
