Summer At Sound City

Last Summer, we set up a handful of events designed to give us all a chance as a church family to build new friendships, to deepen existing relationships with God and one another, and to just enjoy some extended times of fellowship together. This Summer we’re excited to do the same thing! From hikes, to a Mariners game, to Fourth of July events, and everywhere in-between, you can see everything we have planned this Summer below!

Celebrate Fourth of July with your Sound City Bible Church family in downtown Edmonds! From 10am–3pm Community Groups from the Edmonds area will have a tent at City Park (600 3rd Ave S, Edmonds, WA 98020) where those attending can connect during the festivities. City activities include a 5k race, children’s parade, main parade, and firefighters waterball competition. Then stay into the evening to enjoy the fireworks together (scheduled to begin at 10pm at the Civic Stadium). Jim and Shelli Lagucik will be your point of contact and hosts at the tent, so please send RSVPs and any questions to them directly at:

Calling all kids who have completed grades K–5th! Come join us for Vacation Bible School (VBS) hosted by our friends at Northlake Christian Church (19202 North Rd, Bothell, WA 98012) in Bothell. This week of fun and learning about Jesus will run from July 10–July 14, from 9am–12pm. You can register now at

Last year’s summer hikes proved to be a great way to build existing friendships and start some new ones, while enjoying God’s creation together. This summer, on July 15, we’re planning a scenic hike to Lake 22, which will be led by our very own Chris Vaughn. This family-friendly hike is 5.4 miles round-trip, with beautiful scenery throughout. Those looking to carpool will be meeting up at the church offices, and departing at 7:30am; otherwise, plan to meet us there at the trailhead by 9am. Driving Directions: from Granite Falls, drive east for 13 miles on Mountain Loop Highway to the trailhead on the right side of the road. Chris Vaughn will be your point of contact for this event, so please send your RSVPs and questions directly to him at:

Bring your family and blankets to enjoy a free concert on July 20th during the Kenmore Summer Concert Series at St. Edward State Park (14445 Juanita Drive NE, Kenmore, WA 98028). The concert begins at 6pm and ends at 8pm, and promises to be a great time of fellowship for all in attendance. Pastor Shane’s family and Kyle & Brittany Hackett will be there to welcome you at this Summer at Sound City event. Stephanie Patrick will be your point of contact for this event, so please send RSVPs and any questions to her directly at:

On August 8, gather with your community group, invite some other friends and neighbors and join us for the Everett Aquasox game — our local minor league baseball team (at Everett Memorial Stadium - 3900 Broadway, Everett, WA 98201). Colin and Jonika Hash’s Community Group will be hosting, and will meet up with you in the general admissions section by first base. First pitch is at 7:05pm. Tickets are $9 and can be purchased at the stadium. Jonika Hash will be your point of contact for this event, so send your RSVPs and questions directly to her at:

Would you like free tickets to the Mariner’s game on August 11th? We’ve got some for you! Here’s the catch: to get free tickets, you must bring someone who’s not currently involved in a church. This is a great opportunity for you as a church member to practice hospitality and invitation. So reach out to those whom God has put on your heart and invite them to join you and your church family for the game. First pitch is at 7:10pm. Reserve your tickets now at

Get your sneakers out and bring your family out to a day of flag football and a picnic lunch. The Bradshaw and Roberts Community Group will be hosting this event on August 12, from 11am–3pm. Sound City will provide burgers and hotdogs, but the rest of the food will be potluck style so please bring something to share. Brandon and Rachel Bradshaw will be your point of contact for this event so please send your RSVPs directly to Rachel at  (please include your name and the number of those interested in playing football so that we can have an adequate number of flags). Location: We’re still finalizing the park location and other details, so please keep checking our church website and/or social media pages, and/or reach out to Rachel directly.

Enjoy an evening of fellowship in Edmonds with BBQ and lawn games. Tyler and Hillary Sewell’s Community Group will be hosting this event on Saturday, June 17 from 5pm–8pm at Hickman Park (23700 104th Ave W, Edmonds, WA 98020). Burgers and hotdogs will be provided, but the rest of the food will be potluck style so please bring a dish to share. For families with kids, this park has a great play area for your little ones.
