We’re excited to announce that on May 21st, from 3pm–5pm at the church offices in Lynnwood (4720 200th Street SW, Suite 200, Lynnwood, WA 98036), we’ll be launching a new kind of Community Group, called the Connect Group. We’re also excited to be able to offer childcare to Connect Group participants, with advance registration.
Who’s it For?
The Connect Group is for anyone who’s looking to get plugged into a Community Group, but who hasn’t yet been able to, for one reason or another. Maybe you’re new to Sound City. Maybe your old group dissolved or multiplied and you didn’t end up back in a group for some reason. Maybe you’ve been resistant to God’s call of all Christians to do life together with other Christians in an ongoing way, and now you’re feeling convicted that it’s time to get off the sidelines. Whatever the reason, if you’re looking to find a Community Group at Sound City and you’re not in one currently, our Connect Group is for you!
What is It?
The main difference between the Connect Group and a traditional Community Group is that the Connect Group is by intention meant to be a temporary group for its participants rather than long-term (with the typical Connect Group participant attending weekly for not longer than 2 or 3 months). In the Connect Group, you’ll experience much of what a traditional Community Group has to offer, things like: fellowship, prayer, Bible study, accountability, and service. But each week when the group gathers, we’ll also spend time (1) talking strategically about how to get folks connected to existing groups where space allows, and (2) how we might create and launch brand new Community Groups right out from the Connect Group. Most simply put, Connect Group is a temporary Community Group for people to attend while they learn about biblical community, connect with others, and find the best possible long-term Community Group fit for themselves and their families.
How do I sign up to attend? Glad you asked! Complete your registration to attend at: scbc.do/connectgroup.
