Welcome to this month’s Student Ministry Newsletter. It’s our goal to keep you informed and give you all the info you’d need as parents to support and encourage the work the Student Ministry aims to do in helping every student to know, love, and live for Jesus.
UPDATE 9/11/18 - Please see the Save the Date section for information about a location change for our Ice Cream in the Park event.
As the summer winds down and school is starting back up we pray that you and your family are rested for the upcoming year. We are excited to get together on Sept 12th for our Ice Cream at the Park event where we'll eat ice cream and play fun games to end the summer. Please see more details below under the Save the Date section.
This month we’re celebrating our Younger Students graduating from Kid's Ministry to Students. It was a delight at camp to see our students love and welcome our rising 6th graders. We are excited to see God continue to deepen this unity throughout the Student Ministry.
SAVE THE DATE
Our hope and desire is that all our students are able to participate in every opportunity to grow closer to each other and to Jesus as we serve, play, and worship together. Please make note of the following dates. Also, be sure to check back here as well as the Sound City Students FB page on occasion for event details and updates.
September 9 | Praying Over Students: Each year as students head back to school we invite them up on stage to pray over them for the upcoming school year. Students 6th–12th grades are invited to join us in front of the congregation at the beginning of both the 9am and 11am services.
September 12 | Ice Cream at the Park: UPDATE: Due to wet weather in the area, our Ice Cream in the Park event will be held at the Sound City Bible Church Offices (4720 200th St SW #200, Lynnwood, WA 98036) . Join us from 6:45-8:30pm for ice cream (popsicles will be available for dairy free students) and fun games. ACTION REQUIRED! Please complete the attached Activity Release Form.
September 19 | Fall Launch: First Wednesday night gathering of the school year. We will be kicking off the year with games, as well as pizza and soda. Please send $5 with your students to help offset the cost of food. If your student has dietary restrictions, please feel free to send them with pizza of their own (if you're sending food, do not worry about sending money). After the kickoff, Students 6th–12th grades are invited to join us each Wednesday night as we gather together from 6:45p–8:30p at the church offices (Address: 4720 200th Street SW, Suite 200, Lynnwood, WA 98036).
Please pray for our students as they begin the school year, especially for those who may be attending new schools and making new friends.
Pray for our students to be saturated with the gospel and to have the courage to share their faith with the world around them.
Please pray for the students, the leaders, their families, and the Student Ministry as a whole.
