At our recent Family Gathering, I had the opportunity to share some exciting updates on the future direction of our church. For those who were not able to attend, we've published links on our website blog to the video and audio recordings of the time.
If you are a member or regular attender at Sound City, I want to encourage you to watch or listen the next time you're on a run, commuting to work, or have a spare moment. Below are a few highlights of what we covered.
OUR MARKS: We spent some time discussing our new church Marks. Our Marks are essentially our definition of what a "wholehearted follower of Jesus" actually is. If you recognize that last phrase, great! That's our mission: "To raise up wholehearted followers of Jesus." Our Marks provide a clearer picture of the kinds of people we are trying to help each other grow into through the Spirit's power.
OUR RHYTHMS: We then introduced for the first time what we're calling Our Rhythms. Our new rhythms answer the "How" question. How will we raise up wholehearted followers of Jesus? Our answer? By organizing our life together around four core rhythms. Below is a picture of those rhythms.
OUR VISION: Last, we shared that we are close to clarifying our five-year vision for our church and are excited to begin sharing more at our 10-Year Anniversary Celebration on June 29th. This Vision will help guide our church for the next five years as we seek to advance God's Kingdom where he's placed us.
