Overview and Update | September 17

If you've been coming around on Sundays for our service on the lawn or you are still streaming from home, then way to go! It's crucial for the people of God to gather and worship Jesus. Toward that end, we will be giving periodic building updates on this page as we are taking steps to begin worshiping in the building and a future building expansion.

Who is on the Building Team?

There are five people that serve on the building team. John Fox, our Administrative Pastor, Davin Clauson and Dale Kaemingk, members of our Financial Accountability Team (FAT), Steve Jones, one of the lay elders, and Hector Caiazza, who has a wealth of experience in design and drives the aesthetics.

What's been done on the building?

As of this post, the demolition of the offices has been completed, framing, sheetrock, tape-float-texture is done, all of the electrical additions have been run, and the exterior of the building has been painted! Pretty soon it will be time for a fresh coat of paint on the interior.

When can we meet inside?

2020 has been an unpredictable year! Still, with God's help our church hopes to hit a deadline of having our 1st worship service in the newly renovated building on November 1st 2020. Much of this goal comes from seeking shelter from the rain in the coming months. Because of this we are looking to do minimal upgrades to the worship center to get in this fall and then do more next spring according to a more comprehensive master plan.

How can I help?

Work Parties! Many of you are eager to work on the building. Good news! We have a number of work parties you can help out with. Some of these work parties need the help of the whole congregation and some require more specialized skills.

Here's the big parties we've identified so far.

  • Work Party #1 (9/6)- The 1st big work party we have is moving what's in the worship center to trailers to donate to other individuals and families who will need them.

  • Work Party #2 (9/20)- On this date we need everyone to pitch in and help move things from the attic to the Fellowship Hall so that we can expedite the renovation process. There is a third work party we may do, so stay tuned for more information on that.

Church, I am so proud of and grateful for how you have stepped up to help in a difficult time. May God bless our efforts to make Jesus known in our communities!
