Celebrating | Golf Scramble

Celebrating | Golf Scramble

August 31st was a double header with the Family Hike and the annual Golf Scramble. The Golf Scramble is a great event to build relationships with other folks from church, with a neighbor, or a friend. We are thankful to God for this time of ministry, raising funds to bless our community, and the opportunity for some fun and relaxation on the course.

Celebrating | 2019 Mexico Mission Trip

Last month, I had the privilege of leading a team from Sound City down to Vicente Guerrero, Mexico to serve and love the people in this community. This is our 3rd year as a church to partner with Foundation For His Ministry (FFHM). To read more about our partnership with FFHM and our other International Missions partners, go to scbc.do/international-missions!

It’s always amazing to see the Lord work through each mission team, and this year was no exception.

Celebrating | Encouraging Report from Lynnwood DCYF

We welcomed Kris and James from the local DCYF office on March 17th. They shared with us the impact of Sound City’s generosity as we continue to seek to support, encourage, and care for the foster children, families, and DCYF staff in our community.

Celebrating | Armenia Mission Support

This past fall Sound City Bible Church donated money to the Armenia Mission, one of the international mission organizations we support as a church. The money was used to fund a pastors conference in Armenia. Sam and Shoushan Saliban, covenant members of Sound City, oversee this multi church ministry in Armenia, that is focused on making disciples, planting churches, caring for widows and orphans, and so much more.

Uganda Medical Outreach

Uganda Medical Outreach

This October, a small team from our church family will be traveling to a remote village in Uganda on a short-term mission trip. We will be serving alongside HEED Uganda, a mission organization that was started by one of Sound City's very own Covenant Members. To learn more about the amazing work God is doing through HEED Uganda, visit http://www.heeduganda.org/.

While in Uganda one of our primary missions will be medical outreach, specifically to help fight against Malaria. Malaria is one of the highest causes of death in this region. We are hoping to reach around 1,000 people, including school children and their families, and even the surrounding villages and communities.

Celebrating | New Life in the Student Ministry

Celebrating | New Life in the Student Ministry

There are many things that we can celebrate as a Student Ministry. One thing I love about our students is how courageous they are when it comes to inviting friends (specifically friends who don’t know Jesus) to come to Students each week. When new students show up on a Wednesday night they get to participate in a loving, Christ focused time that includes: free time, group games, singing, a gospel centered teaching, and small groups where students break out into groups by age and gender to discuss real life issues and challenges they may be facing. Student Ministry, like the rest of the church body, is a place where real people come together each week to encourage one another. We are a family, a bunch of messy sinners who choose to pursue one another while chasing after Jesus.

Two Opportunities for Generosity

Two Opportunities for Generosity

Generosity around the Christmas holiday is not merely a good idea or a time-honored tradition, it is a way to embody the very heart of the gospel. As such, we want to put before you, the people of Sound City, two specific avenues for you to practice generosity.
